Style of Shooting

FERM Studios is experienced in shooting in a wide range of mirrorless cameras and LED lighting. This equipment helps bring the look of high-production to projects without the associated costs.

FERM Studios operates as either a one-man band, or smaller crew sizes (around 3 to 5 members), depending on the needs of the project.

Our look and feel leans more towards moodier interview setups, lighting our subjects to introduce more shadows in the face. This allows pronounced contouring in the faces of those in front of our cameras!

The Gear

We pride ourselves in working with high-quality gear in order to maximize production value and efficiency on set. Most gear on set is owned and operated by FERM Studios. Our full gear list can be viewed below:

HOW WE OPERATE

Pre-Production

When you approach us with a project, we will fully communicate with you on all aspects of production to make sure we are fully prepped for the day of filming!

These questions will revolve around the scope of the project, the expected deliverables, and the budget range. Upon acceptance of the project, an agreement is sent out. Once the signed agreement and downpayment is received, we get to work!

The questionnaire below can help us guage whether we'll be the right fit for you and your project.

Production

FERM Studios understands that the picture quality is only a portion of the whole project.

We are proud to present high-quality equipment to set! Our lights, cameras, and microphones will check all boxes for the best quality in every department.

Last minute changes may occur on set, and that's expected. We are ready for any curveballs on the day of shooting and will work with you to ensure that the project is filmed to look and sound its best.

Post-Production

The job doesn't stop when we wrap on set. In fact it's just getting started!

Great footage can be ruined by a bad edit. That's why we take special care of assembling and polishing up all the media into a professional edit.

Our team edits mainly with the Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve, both being industry standards.

We'll communicate with you during the post-production process so that you never feel out of the loop.

FAQS

What Should I Wear to Salsa Classes?

Comfort and style are key! We recommend wearing lightweight, breathable clothing that allows for freedom of movement. Ladies, consider a skirt or dress that flows gracefully while dancing. For footwear, choose comfortable, closed-toe shoes with a smooth sole to allow for easy pivoting. If you're unsure, don't worry; we'll provide more detailed guidance during your first class.

Do I Need a Dance Partner to Join Salsa Classes?

Not at all! While salsa is often danced with a partner, you don't need to bring one to our classes. We frequently rotate partners during group lessons to help you learn to dance with different people and improve your lead/follow skills. If you prefer to dance exclusively with your partner, you're welcome to do so, but know that our classes are designed to accommodate both solo dancers and couples.

What if I Have Two Left Feet and No Dance Experience?

No worries; you're in the right place! Many of our students start with zero dance experience or claim to have "two left feet." Our classes are designed for dancers of all skill levels, including absolute beginners. Our patient and experienced instructors will break down the steps, provide individualized guidance, and create a supportive environment where you can learn and grow at your own pace. Remember, everyone starts somewhere, and salsa is all about having fun while you learn! So, leave your worries behind, and come join us on the dance floor.
